About the Artist
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to American parents, Anna Ferguson developed an early appreciation for culture, travel, creative expression, and different ways of seeing the world.
Her creative roots began in illustration and drawing, but several years ago she discovered painting - a curiosity that grew into a sustained passion, shaped through a largely self-taught process alongside a full-time career.
Inspiration
Inspired by the special nooks of the world—the places you want to go back to—her paintings seek to hold onto the feeling of being somewhere that stays with you. Whether along a coastline, in the mountains, or beneath an open sky, her work captures the atmosphere and emotion of place.
Fishers Island
Fishers Island, NY holds a special place in Ferguson’s story. It’s where she first connected to her family roots, where she painted her first canvas, and where she fell in love with the quiet beauty of an island that is longing to be found but needs to stay lost. It remains the place that returns her to painting year after year, continuing to shape the sense of place, memory, and quiet beauty found in her work.
